It’s always the right time to support a charity, and making even the smallest contribution toward an organization that speaks to you can pay big karmic dividends. ALEX AND ANI has seen the power of these small steps with CHARITY BY DESIGN®, the philanthropic division of the company, through which 20 percent of the purchase price of select pieces benefit various non-profits. These contributions have added up to over $30 million in just five years! If you’re searching for worthwhile organizations that need your help, take a look at the outstanding work accomplished by just a few of these CHARITY BY DESIGN partner organizations.
_____
If you’re searching for organizations worthy of your help, check out the seasonal initiatives from the ASPCA, National Autism Association, and American Stroke Association.
ASPCA®
The ASPCA® (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) has been working toward its anti-animal cruelty and homelessness mission for 140 years. Though the organization works year-round to ensure animals are treated fairly and find loving forever homes, their efforts are amplified in April during Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. There are many ways to get involved: start your own fundraiser, use social media to spread the word about Dog Fighting Awareness Day on April 8th and the Help a Horse Day initiative on April 26th, or even adopt a pet from a shelter. You can also show your support with the CHARITY BY DESIGN Prints of Love Charm Bangle.
National Autism Association
Autism affects one out of every 68 children, and the National Autism Association provides a voice for these kids and their families, responds to the autism community’s most urgent needs, and supports autism research. In April, participate in Autism Awareness Month by making a donation, discussing autism on social media, or supporting the cause with the CHARITY BY DESIGN Piece of the Puzzle Charm Bangle. (And be sure to wear your charm bangle all month long to promote autism awareness!)
American Stroke Association
One out of six people will have a stroke in his or her lifetime, yet this disease is largely preventable and treatable. May is American Stroke Month, and the American Stroke Association will call on all of us to be Stroke Heroes by knowing the signs and how to react. Commit to learning the F.A.S.T. acronym (which stands for Face Drooping, Arm Weakening, Speech Difficulty, Time to Call 9-1-1) and spreading the F.A.S.T. system to your family and friends. You can also volunteer, make a donation to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, or supporting the organization with the CHARITY BY DESIGN Wings of Change Charm Bangle, available April 20, 2016.
